Data-Driven recognised as the 2022 Microsoft Partner of the Year Finalist

2022 Microsoft Partner of the Year Australian Finalist • Data and AI Analytics

Sydney, Australia — 29TH JUNE 2022 — Today, Data-Driven announced that it has been named the Finalist for Microsoft Australia’s Partner of the Year Awards, 2022. These awards recognise Microsoft partners that have developed and delivered outstanding Microsoft-based solutions during the past year. Amidst a global field of top Microsoft partners, Data-Driven was honoured for its excellence in technology innovation, as well as its implementation of Microsoft-based customer solutions.

Rachel Bondi, chief partner officer of Microsoft ANZ, congratulated Data-Driven on this achievement. She expressed, “We know in the coming years business transformation will be driven by a new frontier of digital businesses as they become a key driver of growth and prosperity, challenging top performing companies. Data-Driven’s work with CloudMonitor is a great example of this disruptive innovation.”

Data-Driven was recognised for their cost-efficient, modern data platforms, their commitment to advanced specialisations in Microsoft Azure and their cloud innovation in launching an automated FinOps service called CloudMonitor.ai.

Dubbed ‘FinOps on Autopilot’, CloudMonitor helps companies reduce unnecessary spending on cloud technology and avoid bill shock by identifying cost anomalies and cost-saving opportunities. Transport for NSW, which manages one of the largest and most diverse vehicle fleets in Australia, recently reduced its Azure cloud spend by 22 per cent using CloudMonitor.

The solution monitors customers’ cloud resources in real time to find any that are oversized or unused. It then provides personalised recommendations for lowering costs, or improving security and governance processes, based on usage patterns. Accountability for cloud spend is pushed down the project teams allowing each Project Owner to view their own costs and receive cost anomaly alerts via the Teams Bot. This encourages the right-sizing of resources and builds a FinOps culture during the development phase of projects, as opposed to being an afterthought for the Ops team in Production.

CloudMonitor enables Microsoft Cloud Solution Providers (CSPs) to offer a white-labelled, FinOps service as part of their solution catalogue to their customers. CSPS and MSPs receive a volume discount and meet a growing demand for cloud cost optimisation.

Data-Driven’s Data Foundation solution aims to address common challenges such as disparate data sources, lack of self-service analytics, business reliance on Excel files, lack of data quality, and lack of data governance across the organisation.

“We provide better outcomes for customers by involving technical consultants in the pre-sales process regarding data, AI and analytics,” Rodney Joyce, Managing Director explains. “This aligns customer expectations, reduces scope creep and minimises friction between the sales and delivery team, which results in happier customers.”

The Data Foundation deploys a modern data platform that follows Microsoft best practices and a plug-and-play architecture to adapt to each customer’s use-case. This helps clients to accelerate the implementation and adoption of Advanced Analytics to enable data-driven decisions and create business value.
