Microsoft engagement eligibility

# Verify eligibility before you _budget around funding_

Microsoft-funded partner engagements can support qualified customers, but program status, partner eligibility, customer eligibility, and evidence requirements must all be checked.

What can be stated safely

## Funding is an eligibility decision, not a standing discount

Microsoft maintains partner engagements with qualification criteria for the partner, customer, workload, and proposed activity. The available list and status are checked inside Partner Center, so this page does not promise a named program, amount, or approval.

Prepare the enquiry

## Bring enough context for an eligibility check

A broad request for “Microsoft funding” is not enough. The relevant engagement depends on the customer, solution area, workload, and work being proposed.

- Name the customer organisation, tenant or subscription context, and Microsoft workload.
- Describe the assessment, workshop, proof of concept, migration, or deployment being considered.
- State the timing, expected customer outcome, and who can approve the work.
- Record any proof, attestation, or usage evidence the current engagement requires.

Decision path

## Keep funding separate from the delivery promise

A project may still need a valid business case if funding is unavailable, delayed, or narrower than the proposed work.

01

### Check the engagement

Confirm that a relevant opportunity is currently visible to an eligible partner location.

02

### Check the customer

Use the required customer identifier and review the qualifying or disqualifying criteria.

03

### Scope the work

Separate funded activities from any work the customer must approve or fund independently.

04

### Keep the evidence

Agree who will supply proof of execution, customer attestation, and any other required records.
