This is an archive of Data-Driven's Microsoft Copilot in a Day workshop, held in Sydney on January 29, 2025. Registration for that event has closed.

The workshop gave participants a guided environment for building an agent in Copilot Studio and connecting it to a workflow. It was designed as a learning day, not a production deployment or certification.

## What the workshop covered

Participants worked through a sequence that moved from conversation design to action:

1. define the agent's purpose and intended users
2. create topics, messages, questions, and variables
3. connect an agent to approved information
4. call a Power Automate flow from the conversation
5. test expected answers, errors, and handoffs

The agenda used the Copilot Studio experience available at the time. Microsoft has continued to change its agent and workflow authoring experiences since the event.

## What to verify before reusing the material

Microsoft now describes Copilot Studio as a low-code tool for building agents and agent flows. Some newer authoring and workflow experiences remain in preview, while classic experiences have separate support timelines. Use the current Copilot Studio overview rather than treating a 2025 workshop screen or exercise as current product documentation.

Before moving an exercise into a live environment, confirm:

- the license and capacity model for the chosen agent
- which data sources and connectors it can reach
- who owns the connection and credentials
- which actions need human approval
- how the team will test, monitor, and stop the agent

## Continue with a current brief

The original event listing is retained as a historical reference and may no longer accept registrations.

For a current session, bring one workflow, the systems it touches, the people affected, and the action boundary. Our [Copilot and modern business applications service](/services/modern-business-apps-copilot/) explains how we approach that work today.
