Austrade's Australian Critical Minerals Prospectus moved from a static report to a public, interactive view. This project record describes how Data-Driven used Power BI to make projects easier to find and compare.
The current Austrade prospectus remains the source for current project information.
## The problem with a PDF-only prospectus
A PDF can present a polished summary, but it makes a growing project list harder to search by location, mineral, company, or development phase.
Austrade needed to keep the prospectus suitable for investors while giving visitors a faster path to relevant projects.
## What Data-Driven delivered
The project record describes a Power BI report embedded in the public prospectus.
### Geographic exploration
The report uses an Australian map with state and territory boundaries. Project markers connect locations to the available project details.
### Filters and search
Visitors can narrow the view by:
- state or territory
- critical mineral
- project phase
- company
- project name
These paths let a visitor start from either a place, a resource, or a known organisation.
### Project details
The report presents fields such as project status, mineral, company, and location in a consistent view.
### Publishing and data preparation
Data-Driven supported data cleaning and transformation before publication. The solution record also notes a Power Apps path for managing source updates.
The public report is the published view. This case record does not claim that every source change appears in real time.
## The launch evidence
An Australian Government September 2024 media release described the digital prospectus and its interactive map. At launch, it said the prospectus showcased more than 55 investment-ready projects.
That count is a dated launch figure. Use the live Austrade prospectus for the current set.
## What changed for the reader
The new format lets a visitor move from a broad national view to a filtered set of projects without scanning a full report.
Austrade still provides a downloadable summary. The interactive and document formats serve different jobs: exploration in the browser and a fixed record for download or print.
## Evidence boundary
The public prospectus confirms the interactive experience. This case record describes Data-Driven's delivery scope.
It does not provide measured adoption, investment, time-saving, or data-quality results. Those outcomes would need separate evidence.
